Praha 6. Third place in the open competition for the visual identity of the Prague 6 district.
Praha 6. Third place in the open competition.
Our new visual identity concept is based on a distinctive logo, the numeral 6 formed by a geometric composition of a circle and a rectangle.
The straightforward geometry refers to history: the architecture and urbanism of Prague 6.
The symbolism of the logo captures the essence of Prague 6, embodying its aspiration to be confident and courageous. It reflects the district’s progressive spirit while staying forward-looking.
At the same time, it honours the traditional values and pride deeply rooted in its citizens. These qualities are woven into the character of Prague 6, shaping its unique identity and connection to its heritage.
Dynamic logo design is future-oriented: by projecting a photograph or abstract styling, the meaning of the logo can be expanded to respond to current issues or to work on a long-term communication campaign.
In June 22, we managed to place third in the open competition for the visual identity of the Prague 6 district. 76 designs were submitted to the competition. After a detailed discussion over the submitted entries, the jury consisting of independent experts and representatives of Prague 6 determined the order of the participants in the second phase as follows: 1. ReDesign; 2. Little Greta; 3. Less&Better; 4. Věra Marešová a Yara Abu Aataya.
Prague 6 is unique in many ways - the standard of living and education, the abundance of parks and greenery in the immediate vicinity of the city centre, it is rich in leisure activities, has plenty of cultural activities, specific architecture, important monuments, etc. Prague 6 has a lot to say about itself, which is why we have approached the concept of a new visual identity in a way that honours its history while allowing Prague 6 to develop dynamically. Our concept of the new visual identity is based on a distinctive logo, the numeral 6 formed by a geometric composition of a circle and a rectangle.
The straightforward geometry refers to history: the architecture and urbanism of Prague 6. The dynamic work with the logo is directed towards the future: by projecting a photograph or abstract stylization, it is possible to expand the meaning of the logo and thus respond to contemporary themes or work on a long-term communication campaign. We see the whole concept of the new visual identity for Prague 6 as a combination of formality and attractive communication, which will allow Prague 6 to build a formally confident and communicatively attractive brand.
